Accident Fund Donates $10,000 to Society of St. Vincent dePaul
January 26, 2012 (Lansing, MI) – Today, Accident Fund Insurance Company of
America presented a check for $10,000 to the Society of St. Vincent dePaul, of Lansing, Mich., at
the company’s recent all-employee meeting held at Accident Fund National
Headquarters.
Accident Fund’s donation will support the work the Society of St. Vincent dePaul does to provide for individuals and families who find themselves in difficult circumstances. They offer assistance that recognizes the respect and dignity of those in need, addressing short-term needs as well as longer-term issues. To help people meet the variety of challenges facing them, the Society provides basic assistance for financial, food clothing, transportation, medical, or other needs.
“We are proud to support organizations like the Society of St. Vincent dePaul that do so much to assist those in need in the Lansing community,” Mike Britt, president of Accident Fund Insurance Company of America, said. “We were so sorry to learn that the Society of St. Vincent dePaul suffered a total loss of their building due to a fire over the holidays. We hope this donation will help them rebuild their headquarters and provide much-needed funds to help our fellow community members in need. During these difficult economic times, Accident Fund believes it is very important to do what we can to help the families in our community.”
The Society of St. Vincent dePaul depends upon the generosity of the community and local agencies to support its operations.
“Accident Fund and its team members are wonderful examples of a community that realizes we are responsible for one another, what effects one of us effects all of us, and how we treat the most vulnerable among us is a sign of who we are,” Marcia Barrons Maiville, president of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, said. “On behalf of the members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and those that we are privileged to serve, I want to thank you for your extremely generous donation. I can assure you it will be used to make a difference in the lives of many people.”
