Accident Fund Holdings, Inc. Names Garcia
Community Relations Specialist
January 17, 2012 (Lansing, MI) – Accident Fund Holdings, Inc. announces the
appointment of Sarah Garcia, of Lansing, Mich., as community relations
specialist. Garcia is replacing Scott Burgess, who served as community relations
specialist for the company for the past seven years.
Garcia represents Accident Fund Holdings in the communities where the company
does business across the country. In this role, Garcia is responsible for
managing the corporate citizenship strategy through corporate giving and
relationship building with community leaders and the organizations they
represent. She manages all aspects of researching, evaluating, preparing and
disseminating information regarding community relations opportunities.
Garcia joined the company in January 2011 as an enterprise relations specialist.
Prior to joining Accident Fund Holdings, she served as deputy cabinet secretary
and both deputy director and director of Operations and Information Technology
in the Office of Governor Jennifer M. Granholm. Prior to that, she worked in the
Michigan Legislature as a legislative aide to State Senator Christopher Dingell
and a legislative assistant to State Senator Arthur Miller.
Sarah, and her husband Joe, are Lansing residents, and Sarah has lived in the
community her entire life, having graduated from Holt High School. Garcia earned
a bachelor’s degree in Management of Human Resources from Spring Arbor
University.
